Day Use & Beach Day
For a slow day by the sea
Carpe Diem is also an option for a day trip from Luanda. Visitors who are not staying overnight can usually enjoy the common areas: pool, sun loungers, restaurant and beach bar, always subject to availability.
- Direct access to Cabo Ledo beach — great for swimming, surfing and long walks.
- Pool area with loungers and a relaxed, family-friendly vibe.
- Restaurant and beach bar serving fish, seafood, snacks and drinks.
- Possibility to connect with local partners for surf lessons and coastal activities.
Good to know
- For day use, conditions can change (minimum consumption, access rules, events). It’s best to confirm in advance by WhatsApp or Instagram.
- Weekends, holidays and special events can be busier — arrive early if you want a calmer atmosphere and more choice of spots.
- Bring what you need for a full day at the beach (sun protection, hat, light clothes) — Cabo Ledo sun can be strong.
Surf & Eco Carpe Diem
Cabo Ledo is known as one of Angola’s surf capitals. Just a few minutes from the main resort you find Praia dos Surfistas, a bay with long, quality left-hand waves that can run for hundreds of metres on good days.
- Eco Carpe Diem: on the hill above the surf beach, with cabins and a 180º view over the bay — ideal for those who want an even more immersive, nature-focused stay.
- Surf lessons and surf packages are often organised with specialised partners — perfect for beginners and experienced surfers.
- Between sessions, enjoy the simple surf atmosphere, bar support and the feeling of being surrounded by nature and ocean.
Getting there
From Luanda: drive south along the EN100 towards Quiçama / Cabo Ledo (around 120 km, usually 1.5–2.5 hours depending on traffic). After passing Barra do Kwanza and the viewpoints on the cliffs, follow the signs to Cabo Ledo. Carpe Diem is signposted from the main road down to the beach.
