LuandaGuide · Our Story · A Personal Project

Our Story

A personal guide shaped by love, family, curiosity and real life in Luanda.

LuandaGuide was born from lived experience. Not from a company plan or a commercial template, but from the desire to make Luanda feel more understandable, more welcoming and more beautiful for the people discovering it.

Built from Real experience in Luanda
Guided by Family, curiosity and clarity
Made for People who want a warmer, more practical experience of Angola

How it began

Hi, I’m Renata. My story with Angola began through my husband and through our son. That is where everything started for me. Over time, Angola also became part of who I am through my family, through daily life, and through the emotional reality of building a life connected to this place.

When I moved to Luanda, I began discovering the city step by step. Some things felt beautiful immediately. Others took time, patience and real experience to understand. Slowly, I realised that many of the questions I had at the beginning were the same questions other people would have too.

Building LuandaGuide

So I decided to create this website from scratch, slowly and with intention. Not as a company or a formal tourism guide, but as a personal project: a space to gather what I’ve been learning in a practical, honest and elegant way.

LuandaGuide is where I bring together useful links, local insight, small discoveries, real expectations and the kind of information that can genuinely help someone feel more prepared before arriving.

Why it matters to me

This project is personal because Angola is personal to me. It is connected to love, to family and to the shared life we are building. That is why I wanted this guide to feel more human than generic. I want it to be useful, yes, but also warm, thoughtful and respectful.

What I believe in

Every recommendation here comes from real experience, genuine curiosity and a sincere wish to help people discover Luanda with clearer expectations. I believe a guide can be practical without being cold, and beautiful without losing usefulness.
