Our Story
A personal project, built to make life easier for anyone exploring Luanda.
Hi! My name is Renata, and one day I married an Angolan man. After our wedding, he brought me to Angola — and that’s when my journey in Luanda began. When I first arrived, I didn’t know where to start. Everything was unfamiliar, and trying to find trustworthy and up-to-date information online was more difficult than I expected. Much of what I found was either confusing, repetitive or didn’t reflect the real Luanda. And for those who don’t live here, planning things from a distance can be even more overwhelming. So I decided to build this website from scratch — slowly and with intention.
Not as a company or a formal guide, but as a personal project.
A space to gather everything I’ve discovered in an honest and practical way: useful links, suggestions, personal notes, and my own videos. I also have a YouTube channel where I explore different places, and although the channel isn’t only about Luanda, the videos I include here are — each one carefully selected to help people see Luanda through my own eyes and footsteps. In these videos, I share real moments, curiosities, and a look at both the well-known and lesser-known spots of the city. For each category, I suggest different options so you can choose what works best for you — without bias, without pressure, and without sponsorships. Everything I share is based on my own experience, and if one day I do accept sponsorships, it will only be for services I genuinely trust, and I’ll always be fully transparent about it. Right now, this guide is based on my personal experience. But in the future, I would love to include other voices too. If you like this project and feel inspired to contribute — whether with stories, tips, or videos about Luanda — feel free to contact me. I’d be happy to collaborate with anyone who shares this same desire to show the real beauty and rhythm of this city. This website is being built piece by piece, with time, with heart, and with deep respect for Luanda.
It keeps growing based on what people ask, what they need, and what can truly help those arriving here or simply curious to know more. Above all, this is a labour of love.
And maybe that’s what makes this guide different.
It wasn’t made by a company or a team.
It was made by me — with patience, with soul, and with the hope that it might make someone else’s experience in Luanda just a little bit easier, smoother and more joyful.

Built with love, shaped by lived experiences, this project grew from real walks, real questions, and a shared life between two worlds.
