MADE TO ENJOY, NOT TO RUSH

Less time in traffic.
More time in Luanda.

These are selections, not a complete list of everything Luanda has to offer. Each route keeps most activities in one broad area, mixing history, culture, food, the beach and time to relax.

Mix both itineraries if you like. You can swap days, change restaurants or add a local event. Check access and reservations before setting out.

PLAN YOUR STAY

Where to stay in Luanda

Choosing the right area can save you time in traffic and make your holiday more enjoyable. Compare the city centre and southern Luanda according to the places you want to visit.

CENTRE & ILHA

Central Luanda

Ilha do Cabo is convenient for beaches, restaurants and nightlife, but can be noisy at weekends. The Marginal and Praia do Bispo have attractive hotels, often at higher prices. Alvalade, Maianga and Maculusso are worth comparing for smaller hotels and guesthouses.

Ilha do Cabo guide ↗Hotel Baía example ↗
SOUTH & RAMIROS

Southern Luanda

Talatona has good hotels and services, although many are expensive and not directly on the ocean. Benfica is practical but busy. For beach-focused stays, consider Ramiros and its resorts, while allowing for longer journeys into the centre.

A note about hotel recommendations

I've explored these areas and visited some of the resorts as a day guest, but I haven't personally slept in the hotels researched for this guide. I prefer to stay somewhere before recommending it as accommodation. Always check recent reviews, final prices and what is included.
