Located inside the Embassy of Portugal in Luanda, this centre is more than an institutional venue. It is a place where visitors can experience exhibitions, lectures, film cycles, theatre, music and one of the city’s best-known Portuguese-language libraries.

Created in 1996, the Camões – Portuguese Cultural Centre in Luanda is installed in the building of the Portuguese Embassy, on Avenida de Portugal, in one of the most central and historic parts of the city.

Over the years, it has become an important meeting point for culture, language, reading and artistic programming. It is especially relevant for visitors interested in literature, cinema, talks, theatre and the broader dialogue between Angola and Portugal.

The venue combines a formal institutional setting with a cultural mission aimed at a broad public. It regularly supports events and activities that connect education, culture and exchange.

For tourists, it works best as a quieter, more intellectual stop in Luanda, particularly if you want something beyond beaches, viewpoints and restaurants.
