Casa da Praia Resort (also known locally as Recanto da Felicidade) is a relaxed beach resort and day-use club at Praia Km 32 in Ramiros, on the southern coast of Luanda. It’s the kind of place where you spend a whole day between pool, bar, gardens and the beach, and, if you like, stay overnight in one of the suites.

Video tour

A quick look at Casa da Praia from my latest LuandaGuide video: pool vibes, beach breeze and a mini escape without leaving the city.

Experiences

  • Slow days between the pool, the beach and shaded “jangos”, with background music and a chilled crowd.
  • Weekend events with live music or DJs, often with Angolan rhythms like semba and kizomba.
  • Long lunches by the pool, choosing from seafood dishes, grills, snacks, sushi and desserts from the restaurant.
  • Sunset moments by the sea or out on the water, especially if you book one of the panoramic boat rides.
  • Small parties and corporate gatherings using the pool area, green spaces and private corners of the resort.
  • Overnight stays in a suite or duplex if you want to turn a day trip into a full weekend escape.

Day use & pool passes

Casa da Praia works very well as a day-use resort: you don’t need to be staying overnight to enjoy the pool, gardens, restaurant and bar.

  • Pool & rain zone day pass: around 10,000 Kz per person for adults, and 7,000 Kz for children under 10, which gives access to the pool and the “chuva” water area.
  • Sun loungers for non-guests: approx. 10,000 Kz per lounger for up to 3 hours.
  • Comfort blanket rental: around 7,000 Kz if you want extra comfort by the pool or on the grass.
  • There is no fixed minimum food spend, but most visitors choose to have lunch or snacks during their pool day.
  • On special event days (concerts, themed parties, etc.) there may be specific menus or packages advertised in advance.

Prices above are based on the resort’s 2025 information and may change. Always double-check current values directly with the resort before your visit.

Food & drinks

Restaurant

The kitchen at Casa da Praia mixes Angolan favourites, seafood and grills with international touches and sushi. It’s very much a “pool day” menu, but with some more refined plates if you want a special lunch or dinner.

  • Fish & seafood: seafood rice, grilled prawns, bacalhau and octopus “à Lagareiro”, grilled grouper, snapper and the house-style mufete with traditional sides.
  • Meat dishes: Beach House steak, T-bone, picanha, pork loin, grilled chicken and mixed grills for 2–4 people.
  • Pasta & vegetarian: seafood linguini, shrimp & bacon linguini, tagliatelle with vegetables and tomato, plus pumpkin and pea creams.
  • Extras & sides: sautéed vegetables, white rice, black beans, palm-oil beans, sweet potato (fried or boiled), bread-banana, mixed salad and funge with tomato & herb sauce.
  • Sushi & snacks: assorted sushi combinations, hot philadelphia, nigiris, beef and chicken burgers, bifanas and “prego” sandwiches.
  • Breakfast & desserts: premium breakfast, omelettes, toasts, petit gâteau, passion fruit and lemon mousses, quindim and ice cream.

As a rough guide, main dishes often sit in the 15,000–25,000 Kz range, with lighter snacks, sushi sets and desserts below that.

Bar & drinks

  • Soft drinks & water: mineral water (still, sparkling and flavoured) and standard sodas.
  • Natural juices: orange, passion fruit, pineapple, watermelon, lemonade, red berries, tropical blends and pitaya – generally around 4,800–8,000 Kz per glass.
  • Beers & draught: local brands (Cuca, Eka, Nocal, Doppel) in bottle, can and draught options.
  • Cocktails & shots: piña colada, margarita, caipirinhas, mojito, daiquiri, gin & tonic, whisky-cola, tequila shots and signature cocktails.
  • Sangrias & wine: white, red, rosé, sparkling sangrias and a list of Portuguese and international wines (including dessert wines like Porto and Moscatel).
  • Coffee & tea: espresso, decaf, galão and teas for the end of the meal or an afternoon break.

The bar team can usually adapt cocktails (less sweet, no alcohol, etc.), so don’t hesitate to say how you like your drink.

Boat trips & activities

On-site activities

  • Pool & rain zone: day pass around 10,000 Kz (7,000 Kz for children under 10), with access to the main pool and water-spray area.
  • Horse riding: short horseback rides organised from the resort, usually around 10,000 Kz per person.

Activities may depend on the sea and weather conditions, so it’s always a good idea to check availability earlier in the day.

Boat tours (typical 2025 prices)

Casa da Praia offers several boat trips along the coast and to nearby islands. Prices below are usually per boat for a group of 4–6 people:

  • Mussulo Island: 30–40 minutes each way, around 100,000 Kz per boat.
  • Small islands of Ramiros: 15–20 minutes, calm waters for swimming, snorkelling and photos — about 80,000 Kz per boat.
  • Slavery Museum by sea: 25–30 minutes with external view from the water and the possibility of disembarking nearby — around 90,000 Kz per boat.
  • “Costa Dourada” panoramic tour: 30–40 minutes along the Ramiros coastline, beaches and cliffs — around 100,000 Kz per boat.
  • Bird Island: 20–25 minutes, focused on bird watching and mangroves — around 85,000 Kz per boat.
  • 3-point circuit (Museum + Islands + Sunset): 50–60 minutes combining the main points of the area — around 120,000 Kz per boat.

All amounts are subject to change. Confirm final prices, route and duration directly with the resort when you book your tour.
