Arrivals & Departures
Transport to and from Luanda’s New Airport
All practical options to reach Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport — clear, current and stress-free.
🧭 Train (Temporarily Suspended)
Important update:
Train service between Bungo Station and Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport
remains suspended as of October 2025 due to ongoing maintenance and safety adjustments.
The CFL had announced a planned return for September 2025, but no official confirmation of
resumption has been released yet. The reopening is expected soon, as the airport prepares for full international
operations later this month.
When running, the train is typically the most affordable and predictable option (~45 min via Viana, starting at Bungo).
⏱ Schedules & Fares (when service resumes)
- Daily frequency from morning to late evening.
- Previous promo round-trip: 2,500 Kz. Regular one-way: 5,000 Kz.
- Buy at station; arrive early at peak times.
🚌 TCUL Public Buses — Cheapest Option
The public company TCUL runs routes linking the new airport to several areas of Luanda.
- Patterns: short semi-express (≈4 stops) and long semi-express (≈7 stops).
- Operating hours: around 04:00 until the last flight.
- Fares: typically 500–1,000 Kz (about €0.50–€1).
Heads-up: Limited luggage space and variable comfort during rush hours. Best for light bags & tight budgets.
Public transport guide🚖 Taxis (Traditional)
Taxi ranks are located outside the terminal.

- Tip: Ask your accommodation for a reference price for your route.

📍 Getting to Bungo Station (City Center)
Bungo Station is the central rail hub. Reach it via taxi or ride-hailing; it’s also walkable from some downtown hotels. We don’t recommend informal shared transport (“candongueiros”) for first-time visitors.
