Jahmek Contemporary Art

Bold contemporary art in downtown Luanda: exhibitions, dialogues, studio visits.

overview

Jahmek Contemporary Art is one of Luanda’s most dynamic platforms for contemporary art. Founded in 2018 by Mehak and Jardel Vieira, the gallery moved in 2022 to the historic Hotel Globo, where it presents a changing programme of exhibitions, artist talks and community events.

Jahmek collaborates with established and emerging Angolan voices and international peers, including exhibitions with artists such as Kiluanji Kia Henda and Mónica de Miranda — fostering critical conversations that connect Luanda to the wider art world.

Whether you’re new to contemporary art or a seasoned visitor, the space is welcoming, experimental and distinctly Luandan.
