Chilala Floating Restaurant – Kwanza River
There are places that make us feel like we’ve stepped into a movie.
Chilala Floating Restaurant is one of those places. Built entirely with recycled materials, this floating spot in the heart of the Kwanza River is a hidden gem just a short drive from Luanda.
The food is based on traditional Angolan cuisine — simple, delicious, and full of flavour. But what truly makes it special is the surrounding atmosphere: embraced by mangroves, the sounds of nature, and a tropical landscape that feels straight out of an adventure film.
During your visit, you can take a boat ride along the river, making the experience even more unforgettable. Being in such close contact with Nature brings a sense of peace and balance that your body and mind will thank you for.

Mangais Golf Resort – Barra do Kwanza
Who would imagine that just a short drive from Luanda, you can find a peaceful golf resort surrounded by palm trees, nature, and fresh air? Mangais Golf Resort is the perfect place for anyone looking for a different kind of experience: whether it’s watching a golf tournament, enjoying eco-tourism, or simply having lunch in a refined and relaxed setting.
In this video, we attended a special tournament sponsored by the travel agency Realvitur, which was incredibly well organised and had a warm and welcoming atmosphere. My sister even had the honour of handing out the prizes — a truly special moment!
After the tournament, we had lunch at the resort’s restaurant, where a varied and delicious buffet awaited us. Definitely worth recommending to anyone in the area.

Ilha de Luanda – Where the Bay Meets the Ocean
Ilha de Luanda is one of the city’s most iconic and vibrant areas — a long strip of land between the calm bay and the open sea, where beach vibes blend with urban life.
In this video, I take you on a full tour along the main road that separates the bay from the Atlantic. We pass by famous beachfront restaurants, discover some great places to eat, see a historic hotel from the 1960s with an interesting backstory, and talk about the changes in the area — including a green park that once had animals.
It’s a complete walkthrough for anyone curious about what Ilha de Luanda really looks like today — whether you’re planning a visit or just love discovering new places.
How much does it cost to live on the island?
Renting a two- or three-bedroom apartment on Ilha de Luanda usually ranges between €1,400 and €3,400 per month, depending on the size, location, and whether it’s furnished. Prices tend to be higher in newer buildings with sea views.
Highlights:
- Seaside dining and popular restaurants
- Views of both the bay and the ocean
- A mix of modern changes and nostalgic spots
- A unique slice of Luanda’s lifestyle

Miradouro da Lua, Mangais, Rio Kwanza & Boutique Lodge Sangano – A Scenic Tour South of Luanda
Some journeys aren’t just about the destination, but about the landscapes that slowly unfold along the way.
This tour takes you through some of the most striking locations south of Luanda — each with its own unique atmosphere.
We start at the Miradouro da Lua, one of Angola’s most surreal natural viewpoints. Its dramatic cliffs carved by wind and time resemble a lunar landscape, offering breathtaking views and a powerful sense of scale.
From there, the road leads to Mangais Golf Resort, a lush retreat where nature and comfort meet. Whether you’re there for a golf tournament or just a peaceful meal surrounded by greenery, it’s a place that blends elegance with natural beauty.
The tour continues with views of the Kwanza River, Angola’s longest and most emblematic river. Calm, vast and wrapped in mangroves, it’s a reminder of the quiet power of nature.
We finish at the Boutique Lodge Sangano, a hidden gem by the sea. With its clear waters, fresh local food and tropical gardens, it’s the kind of place where time slows down and your senses wake up. You’ll understand why many consider it one of the best escapes near Luanda.
